Elements and Performance Criteria

  1. Develop strategies
  2. Search and rescue strategy is developed based on information available
  3. Resources are identified, in accordance with strategy based on available information
  4. Strategy is evaluated and reviewed as determined by the input of information and review of available resources
  5. Coordinate team members
  6. Team members are briefed on their roles and responsibilities and the way the team will operate

  9. Performance of team members is monitored and reviewed, as the scenario unfolds, to determine ongoing requirements

  12. Resources are monitored and reviewed to determine changing requirements
  13. Guidance and support are provided and sought from authorities, organisations and agencies, in accordance with requirements

  16. Communication systems are managed to provide optimum capability
  17. Manage search and rescue records
  18. Intended audience for written report is identified and expectations are negotiated
  19. Content of report is accurate and written in a concise and logical manner
  20. Report is disseminated to the intended audience in a timely manner
